A 28-year-old man has been charged with Careless Driving after he struck the front of a school bus in Whitby yesterday.
On Monday, September 12, 2016, at approximately 8:47 a.m., officers were called to the scene of a collision between a car and school bus. The school bus was travelling westbound in the curb lane on Rossland Road near Brock Road when it was struck by a silver Nissan. The Nissan had been travelling eastbound but attempted to turn northbound into an apartment complex when it veered into the path of the school bus.
The school bus had teenaged passengers on board. Three were taken to hospital as a precaution and were later released. The driver of the car was first taken to a local hospital, and then transferred to a Toronto-area trauma hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
A 28-year-old male from Oshawa will be charged with Careless Driving.
