Suicide Squad has blown away the box office competition for the third week in a row.  The latest from DC brought in another $ 20.7 million to bring its North American total to $ 262 million.  The film is also doing well around the world with just under $ 573 million.  Sauasage Party remained in second place for the second week with another $ 15.3 million for a total of $ 65 million.

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder offered a moving tribute to the Tragically Hip’s Gord Downie at a concert in Chicago Saturday night.  Vedder said, “He was very courageous and decided to take his group out on one last tour and tonight’s the last night of that run … I just want to send them our energy from our gathering up to their gathering up there, and wish the best to Mr. Gord Downie. We love you.”

Some of the pills taken from Prince’s estate in Paisley Park after his death were counterfeit drugs that actually contained fentanyl — a synthetic opioid 50 times more powerful than heroin, an official close to the investigation told The Associated Press Sunday nearly two dozen pills found in one Aleve bottle were falsely labeled.
