Canadian tennis star Milos Raonic won’t be participating in this summer’s Olympic Games.
The resident of Thornhill, Ont., announced Friday his decision not to participate in the Rio Games amid health concerns.
Raonic said in a post on his verified Facebook page that he is backing out “for a variety of health concerns including the uncertainty around the Zika virus.”
Raonic, ranked No. 7 in the world, isn’t the first high-profile athlete to withdraw from the Games amid concerns about the Zika virus.
Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott were among a host of golfers to decide against competing because of health concerns.
