Lady Gaga is over the Madonna comparisons… details in your Daily Scoop.

Lady Gaga’s album, ‘Joanne,’ hits stores today and during a recent interview she wasn’t happy with being compared to Madonna saying, “I wouldn’t make that comparison at all. I don’t mean to disrespect Madonna… she’s a nice lady. And she’s had a fantastic, huge career. She’s the biggest pop star of all time.  But I play a lot of instruments. I write all my own music. I spend hours and hours a day in the studio. I’m a producer. I’m a writer. What I do is different.”

The nominees for the 2017 Songwriters Hall of Fame have been revealed including Canadian Bryan Adams who has penned hits like ‘Everything I Do’ and ‘Summer Of 69.’  Also up for the honour are Jay Z, who is one of contemporary music’s most celebrated lyricists and entertainers.  As well as Madonna, don’t tell Gaga, who has written numerous songs including number one hits Papa Don’t Preach’ and ‘Vogue.’

New music is set to be released from Prince, who died in April.  The singer’s record label made the announcement that a 40 song greatest hits package will be released in November and a remastered version of ‘Purple Rain’ that will feature a second album of unreleased material will be made available in 2017.
