DRPS Civilian Members Assist With Arrest

Two DRPS members are credited with assisting with the arrest of a male who was assaulting an employee outside a business.

On Friday August 26, 2016 just before 8 a.m. two civilian DRPS members were on a coffee break inside a restaurant on Bond Street in Oshawa when a male employee called out for them to contact police. He indicated a male was trashing an apartment on the upper level.

Police were contacted and in the meantime, the suspect male came from the apartment and began assaulting the male employee. The two DRPS employees jumped in and assisted by holding the suspect until police arrived. The restaurant employee suffered minor injuries during the assault. The two DRPS members were not hurt and will be given a commendation for their efforts.

Dylan TAYLOR, age 21 of Oshawa is charged with: Assault and Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x2). He was held for a bail hearing.
