An arrest has been made in a string of bomb threats made this summer in Lindsay.

Kawartha Lakes Police have arrested a 36-year-old Coboconk man. His name is being withheld pending a bail hearing on Friday. He was arrested around 11 a.m. and faces five counts each of mischief, conveying a false message and uttering a threat to property in connection to incidents in Lindsay and the same charges for one incident in Durham region.

Police allege the man is connected to a bomb threat made at Ross Memorial Hospital on June 27 along with three separate threats made to local area restaurants (Kelsey’s and McDonald’s on Kent St. West) with two on the same day and then another to a Lindsay area pharmacy as recent as Wednesday night.

A incident was also reported in Durham Region. Police made several public appeals for information as the investigation progressed.

“Police and other Emergency Service have expended considerable resources responding to these threats, so it is a relief for us and our community that we can now put this to rest,” stated Sgt. Tom Hickey. “We were also very fortunate to have had great investigative support from Peterborough Police Service and we thank them for that
