Scarborough Man Arrested After Using Fraudulent Credit Cards At Sears in Durham

A Scarborough male is facing multiple charges after defrauding a retail establishment of thousands of dollars.

Between December 2015 and July 2016, the accused used fraudulent credit cards to purchase gift cards at Sears locations in Durham Region and the GTA. The estimated loss for Sears is over $7,000.

On August 10, 2016 after a lengthy investigation, members of the DRPS Major Fraud Unit arrested a male at his home in Scarborough. A search of his home and vehicle uncovered credit card information, pre-paid credit cards, cash and banking documents. The investigation continues.

Ronald ANDERSON, age 53 of Scarborough, faces 21 fraud-related charges including: Fraud Over $5,000; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Unauthorized use of Credit Card Data. He was held for a bail hearing.
