Two Males Arrested After Motorist Threatened With Knife In Ajax

An Ajax motorist who confronted two males for blocking the roadway was threatened with a large knife Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday August 2, 2016, at about 1:30 p.m. a male was driving his truck along Rand Street in Ajax when he noticed two males on bicycles in the middle of the road. He told them to ride in single file and after a brief verbal altercation, continued along Rand Street. As he passed the males, one of them struck his truck with an object.

He stopped to check the truck and noticed a dent. After catching up with the suspects again, the male confronted them about the damage. One of the suspects pulled out a large knife and challenged the male driver to get out of the truck. The male drove away and contacted police and the suspects left the area. He was not physically injured.

Police searched the area and located the suspects near a bike path. After a brief foot pursuit, the two male suspects were arrested and charged.

Kelvin BROWN, age 18, of Ajax, is charged with: Assault with a Weapon; Possession of Weapons Dangerous; Fail to Comply with OIC Undertaking x2 and Mischief under $5,000.

Evan GILLESPIE, age 20, of Ajax, is charged with: Fail to Comply with OIC Undertaking. They were held for bail hearings.
