A Whitby man was arrested after entering a Whitby business and grabbing a female employee.
On Monday, August 1, 2016 at approximately 1:15 p.m., the suspect entered a Whitby business located near the corner of Dundas Street West and Jeffery Street in Whitby. He approached a female employee and began a conversation before grabbing her and pushing her into a nearby bathroom. The 19-year-old female was able to break free and run away.
Officers later located the male and arrested him without incident. Officers located a push knife in the suspect’s backpack. The victim did not know the male.
Mohamed CHMAYSANI, age 36, of No Fixed Address, is charged with: Sexual Assault; Forcible Confinement; Possession of a Prohibited Weapon; Possession of Weapon Dangerous; Possession Contrary to Order and Breach of Probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
