A man in his twenties remains in critical condition after being shot in Pickering Tuesday, a crime that has shocked the neighbourhood.
“This is a good neighborhood, a very good neighborhood.”
The residents on Glen Eden Court in Pickering are trying to figure out what happened in their quiet community. On Tuesday morning a 27 year old man was shot in his home. Charlie has lived in the neighbourhood for the last 6 years and says the man who was shot, only moved in a few months ago.
“No they are fairly new, they were new people so nobody really knew them.”
Most neighbours we spoke with were too frightened to go on camera. Another neighbour we spoke with said the victim kept to himself. Police updated the man’s condition today.
“He underwent surgery today and now he is in critical condition still in hospital.”
Just before 4 am shots were heard from 1139 Glen Eden Court and shortly after, police arrived to find the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
“The matter has been turned over to our homicide unit for further investigation, we are appealing to the public if they have not spoken to the detectives so far to contact the homicide officers that are listed on the release.”
Police were outside the house all day on Wednesday while the homicide unit investigated.
“Our homicide unit investigates kinds of cases, it doesn’t have to be a fatal incident for them to get involved. If it meets the threshold of someone who is in grave condition.”
At this point, police say they have no suspects in the shooting.
