Police Looking For Suspect After Seniors’ Apartments Entered In Whitby

Police are looking to identify a female suspect who was captured on video entering seniors’ apartments and stealing cash.

On Monday, July 18, 2016, between 9:40 a.m. and 11 a.m., residents of a senior’s apartment building on Perry Street in Whitby reported an unknown female suspect had entered their unlocked unit. The suspect checked numerous doors on different floors. When she walked in on a resident, she claimed she had the wrong apartment and left. It wasn’t until later that day that residents realized that cash had been stolen.

A total of seven apartments were entered and investigators want to ensure there are no other victims.

The suspect is described as female, white, 35 to 40 years old, approximately 5’6” tall with long brown hair and wearing pink hospital scrubs, white runners and a straw hat.

Anyone with new information is asked to contact D/Cst. Rayner of the Central West Division Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1854.
