A 34-year-old male was arrested after driving erratically with a baby in the rear seat.
On Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers in East Division responded to the area of Taunton Road and Trulls Road after numerous callers reported a vehicle driving dangerously. A brown Dodge ran a red light at Taunton Road and was driving all over the road while travelling southbound on Trulls Road. The car nearly entered the ditch along the road and was tailgating the car in front of it.
Officers arrived as the driver was parking the car at a residence on Trulls Road. A baby, under the age of two, was located securely buckled up in the rear seat. The driver was arrested and arrangements were made to take care of the child.
A 34-year-old male from Courtice is charged with Impaired Operation by Drug. He was later released on a Promise to Appear. His name is not being released to protect the identity of the child.
