Investigators are appealing for witnesses in two separate street-level robberies that took place in Whitby last month.
On Sunday, June 12, 2016, at approximately 8:20 p.m., a male was walking in the area of Rossland Road West and Harvest Place in Whitby when he was approached by a male suspect, who assaulted the victim with a bladed weapon and robbed him of a cellphone. The suspect fled the area on foot. The victim was treated for serious injuries.
The suspect is described as: male, white, approximately 6’ tall with a medium build and short hair.
On Saturday, June 25, 2016, at approximately 2:50 a.m., a male entered Sam’s Kitchen on Brock Street South, just south of Dundas Street in Whitby. He was approached by three males, assaulted and robbed of his jewelery. The suspects fled the area on foot.
The three suspects are described as: male, black, one was wearing a fishing hat, another had corn rows in his hair and another had an afro-style haircut pulled back in a pony tail.
