More than 100 charges have been laid and more than $800,000 in drugs and cash sized during a GTA-wide investigation dubbed Project Baldwin.
The investigation began in January 2016 and was led by the DRPS Gun and Gang Enforcement Unit. Over the past week, 21 search warrants were executed across the GTA, including one in York, two in Peel, seven in Toronto and 11 in Durham. There are 17 people facing 113 charges, which include drug trafficking and firearms charges.
Investigators seized approximately $502,000 in drugs, which included cocaine, pharmaceuticals and marihuana. A ballistic vest, two handguns, a machine gun and more than 1,300 rounds of ammunition were taken off the street. More than $340,000 in cash and eight vehicles were also seized during Project Baldwin.
