A drive by shooting incident in Ajax last night has resulted in Durham Region’s fourth homicide of 2016.
On Monday, July 4, 2016 at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers were called to the Venture Lane/Ducatel Crescent area of Ajax regarding multiple gunshots being heard. Officers discovered a 33-year-old Mississauga man suffering from gunshot wounds sitting in a vehicle parked at the front entrance of a townhouse complex on the south side of Ducatel Crescent. The vehicle had multiple bullet holes in it.
Officers began CPR before paramedics arrived and took over. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but died of his injuries.
Witnesses reporting seeing a large black SUV vehicle drive away from the area. It was last seen travelling eastbound on Ducatel. No suspect(s) descriptions are available at this time.
Vernie FERRIGON, age 33 of Mississauga, is Durham Region’s fourth homicide victim of 2016.
