Four people suffered minor injuries after being struck by pepper-spray in a street-level robbery attempt.
On Sunday, June 26, 2016, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers from West Division responded to the area of Kingston Road and Bainbridge Drive in Pickering for a robbery attempt that had just occurred. The victims, three males and one female, aged 16 to 20 years old, were in the parking lot of Tim Hortons when they were approached by two male suspects. One suspect demanded their belongings and when they didn’t immediately comply with the demand, he sprayed the group with pepper-spray. Both suspects fled to a car that was parked on Bainbridge Drive and were last seen travelling southbound.
The victims experienced eye and skin irritation. One victim fell during the incident and separated his shoulder.
Suspect #1 is described as male, white, 18 to 20 years old, with a tear-drop tattoo on his face.
Suspect #2 is described as male, white, 18 to 20 years old.
The suspect vehicle is described as a black Honda Civic.
