Fourteen people have been arrested and sixteen search warrants have been executed early this morning as part of a multi-jurisdictional drug investigation led by the Durham Regional Police Service.
In November 2015, the DRPS Drug Enforcement Unit commenced an undercover investigation into street-level drug trafficking in Durham Region which uncovered a large drug trafficking network.
DRPS partnered with Kingston Police in a collaborative effort to disrupt this high-level drug trafficking network.
Early this morning, officers conducted search warrants at 16 different locations, from Belleville to Mississauga. In addition to the 14 people arrested, officers have seized two handguns, four long guns, cocaine, hashish, marihuana, cash, vehicles, and have uncovered a clandestine laboratory.
A list of those charged is being compiled and will be released at a later date.
Anyone with new information is asked to contact the DRPS Drug Enforcement Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5802.
