Off the success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, John Boyega has been cast in Legendary’s Pacific Rim sequel. He will play the lead character, the son of Idris Elba’s character from the original film. The plot for the sequel has been kept under wraps, but the casting of Boyega in the role means that the film will follow the events of first film.
The potential new Captain Marvel just got Captain America’s seal of approval. As reported earlier this week, Brie Larson, the Oscar-winning actress of Room, is in early discussions to play the title role of Captain Marvel, the female-headlined superhero film from Disney’s Marvel Studios. Like many of her fans out there, Chris Evans says “I really hope that happens. I love Brie Larson.”
Drake’s “Views” is sitting pretty at the top of the Billboard 200 Albums Chart for a fifth consecutive week. The Canadian rapper’s record is the first by a male artist to spend so long at number 1 since December 2011, when Michael Buble’s album “Christmas” spent five weeks in the top position. According to Billboard, “Views” has been streamed almost 138 million times, and sold 37,000 hard copies in the week ending June 2.
