Commercial Motor Vehicles Taken Off the Road During Blitz

More than 40 per cent of commercial motor vehicles inspected yesterday in North Durham were taken off of the road due to safety concerns.

On Thursday, April 28, 2016, DRPS officers from the Traffic Services Unit as well as North and Central West Divisions were joined by representatives from the OPP, Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of the Environment to conduct a commercial motor vehicle inspection blitz in Manchester.

The team inspected 39 vehicles and took 17 of those out of service for safety violations, including improper brakes and insecure loads. Two sets of license plates were seized and 25 charges were laid.
