Raptors Come Up Big In Game 5 Victory. Take 3-2 Series Lead

Durham, ON, Canada / channel12

Welcome to the playoffs DeMar. DeMar DeRozan was the star of the night for the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday during game 5 of their first round playoff series against the Pacers. DeRozan was able to make his way back to the free throw line again going 12 of 13 and finishing off with 34 points.

“It felt like my normal self,” DeRozan said. “Me and Kyle work extremely hard . It’s all about patience. You can’t get flustered. You can’t get frustrated. You have to stay the course, and that’s what we’re going to continue to do, whatever it takes to win.”

His fellow All-Star Kyle Lowry finished off with 14 points and 5 assists. Bismack Biyombo had  a game high 16 rebounds, seven of those being in the fourth quarter, and 11 points.

The Raptors trailed the entire game from as much as a 17-point deficit until 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter. It was a monster jam from rookie ‘Stormin Norman Powell’ that tied the game 92-92 with 6:21 left in the game.  The Raptors went on a 21-2 run in the 4th quarter and held the Indiana Pacers to 9 points in the fourth quarter. With less than 3 seconds on the clock in the 4th the Raptors were up by 3 points and Indiana had the ball under the Raptors next. They inbound it to Paul George who feeds it to Solomon Hill…. it goes in. Unfortunately for Hill and the Pacers who were celebrating the shot went off after the shot clock hit zero.

Paul George led Indiana with 39 points .”It’s awful to have had a chance to win on the road, go up 3-2, and come back home,” George said. “Once again, we failed to live up to that moment.”

Raptors take game 5 102-99 and go to Indiana on Friday with a 3-2 lead in the series.
