Purple reign on the Billboard charts… details in your Daily Scoop.

Music legend Prince passed away on April 21 and two of his albums, ‘The Very Best Of Prince’ and ‘Purple Rain’ have shot to the top two spots on the Billboard 200 albums chart.  Another album, ‘The Hits/The B-Sides’ sits at number six.  The albums sold a combined total of 256-thousand copies and are expected to sell more in the coming weeks.

Amy Schumer is opening up to Vanity Fair about the shooting that took place during a screening of her film, ‘Trainwreck’, saying “so my publicist told me. And then I put on the news. I was by myself in a hotel, and I was just like, I wish I never wrote that movie.  The idea of people trying to go out and have a good time – you know, looking forward to it? – I don’t know why that makes me the saddest.”

The Billboard Music Awards have added some Canadian talent to the list of performers with the addition of Shawn Mendes, the Pickering native joins previously announced performers including Pink and The Go-Go’s.
