Police are searching for a male suspect after a credit union in Bowmanville was robbed today.
On Tuesday, April 25, 2016, at approximately 11:45 a.m., officers in East Division responded to the Auto Workers Credit Union on King Street East for a robbery that had just occurred. A male suspect entered the credit union, passed a note to the teller and fled on foot with a quantity of cash. No weapon was seen or mentioned. He was last seen walking southbound through the parking lot behind the back. Officers and K-9 searched the area with negative results.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
The suspect is described as male, white, approximately 5’6” tall, with dark hair and a beard. He was wearing a black hat, a black hooded coat and black or blue jeans.
Police are investigating if this incident is related to the robbery of CIBC bank in Oshawa last Saturday and the CIBC bank in Newcastle yesterday.
