A 26-year-old male was arrested Saturday night after an Oshawa man suffered serious knife wounds during an altercation.
On Saturday, April 23, 2016, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers in Central East Division responded to a local hospital where a male reported being stabbed at an Oshawa residence. The victim was at an apartment unit in the area of Albert Street and Olive Avenue when a male suspect, who is known to him, attacked him. The suspect threw a toaster oven at the victim, striking him on the head, and then chased him from the apartment while holding a knife. The victim was slashed on three different areas of his body by the suspect before evading the suspect and making his way to hospital.
He was treated for serious, but non-life threatening slash wounds to his upper body.
Officers attended the apartment and arrested the suspect without further incident.
Joel NYENIMIGABO, age 26, of Toronto, is charged with: Attempt Murder; Assault with a Weapon; Threatening; Possession of Weapons Dangerous and Mischief Under $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing.
