Taxi Driver Robbed in Ajax

Four suspects are sought after a taxi driver in Ajax was assaulted and robbed at knifepoint early Thursday morning.

On Thursday, April 21, 2016, at approximately 1:30 a.m., police in West Division responded to the north-east corner of Salem Road and Kingston Road East for a robbery that had just occurred. A 33-year-old male was standing outside the taxi he operates when he was approached by four suspects, three males and a female. One male punched the victim on the head, knocking him to the ground and held him at knifepoint while the other suspects stole property from the taxi.

The suspects fled the area westbound and were last seen running south on Harwood Avenue. The DRPS K-9 Unit searched the area but did not locate the suspects.

The victim suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

Suspect #1 is described as male, white, 40 to 50 years old, approximately 5’10” with a heavy build, and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and work boots.

Suspect #2 is described as male, white, 20 to 25 years old, with a slim build and wearing a black and white ball cap.

Suspect #3 is described as male, white, 20 to 25 years old with a medium build.

Suspect #4 is described as female, white, 20 to 25 years old, approximately 5’7” with a medium build, brown hair in a ponytail, and wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and grey or white sweat pants.
