A 20-year-old man has been arrested and another is wanted after a teen from Oshawa suffered serious injuries during an assault.
On Saturday, April 16, 2016, just after midnight, officers responded to an apartment building in the area of Simcoe Street North and Beatrice Street regarding an assault. The victim, a 17-year-old male, was in a second-floor apartment with two acquaintances when a verbal argument turned physical. The victim was forced out of the unit and punch on the head. He was dragged to a stairwell by both suspects where he was kicked about the head and body. As paramedics arrived, the victim was kicked in the head again, forcing it to hit a wall.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for serious head injuries.
One suspect was arrested at the scene without incident.
Nicholas HARNISH, age 20, of Oshawa, is charged with: Aggravated Assault. He was held for a bail hearing.
A warrant has been issued for Brenden ANDREWS, age 18, of Oshawa, charging him with: Aggravated Assault and Fail to Comply with Recognizance. He is described as male, white, 5’11” tall and 126 lbs.
