An intoxicated female was located by the DRPS K-9 Unit after she had fallen into a creek, in sub-zero temperatures, early Sunday morning.
On Sunday, April 10, 2016, at approximately 2 a.m., officers from North Division responded to Maple Beach Road in Brock Township for a missing person. A 40-year-old female, who was visiting friends, wandered away from the house in an intoxicated state.
Officers were assisted by Air1 and the DRPS K-9 Unit as the temperatures were below freezing and the female was not dressed for the conditions. Police Service Dog “Riot” immediately tracked into the wooded area behind the residence and located the female face down beside a creek, with her legs submerged in the water.
The female was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for her injuries and exposure to the cold.
