The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) was called after a female was found with injuries following her arrest early Sunday morning.
On Sunday, April 3, 2016 at approximately 2:25 a.m. a 25-year-old female was brought to West Division by family members after causing a disturbance at a family event. She was arrested by officers and transported to a local hospital before being lodged in the cells of Central East Division.
When she was later taken back to hospital, it was discovered she had a broken wrist.
According to the legislation, the DRPS contacted the SIU, who are now investigating. Anyone with new information is asked to contact the SIU at 1-800-787-8529.
