“There’s a huge amount of trauma because the body was struck by several vehicles.”
A man’s body was discovered Wednesday night around midnight on the 401 in Oshawa.
A tow truck driver travelling Eastbound on the 401 near Stevenson Road made the discovery at 11:30 and contacted police.
OPP Sgt Kerry Schmidt says the investigation continues.
“We don’t have any reason to believe that foul play is involved. But the investigation is on-going and we’re working on trying to identify this person so we can notify family and continue the investigation.”
The 401 was closed to traffic until about 2:30 am while Durham Police and OPP investigated.
The cause of death will be part of the autopsy that the coroner’s office will be conducting today or Friday.
