The countdown is on as parents gear up to send their children back to school on Monday. But there’s still plenty of events to take the children to as March Break winds down.
Over at the Oshawa Library’s Legends Branch children are learning the art of Japanese paper folding… also known as origami.
It’s one of many activities children are participating in as part of March Break fun at the library.
“I’m having a lot of fun even though even though this is kind of difficult. But it’s pretty cool”
Gail Canonaco, Branch Supervisor: “We do it to keep the kids busy over the March Break. There’s a lot of activity programs and crafts. We like to keep them moving. We have some activity programs as well and just to keep them educated and having fun.”
And there’s more fun to be had at Purple Woods Conservation Area for the 41st annual Maple Syrup Festival.
Visitors can take a walk through the woods to the Sugar Shack and experience interactive historical displays about maple syrup production.
There’s also horse-drawn wagon rides and pancakes to purchase. And if you can’t make it out this weekend, not to worry…..the festival continues March 26th to 27th and April 2nd/ 3rd.
